From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the freshness of the ingredients—there’s a large tank showcasing all the live seafood available, so you know exactly what you’re getting. It’s not just a meal here—it’s a full experience. The menu is focused and straightforward: fresh seafood is the star of the show. Don’t expect a long menu with lots of options—this place is all about premium, quality seafood done right. We ordered the combination seafood pot and a king crab, and both were absolutely amazing. The seafood pot was full of flavour and generously portioned, perfect for sharing. The king crab was fresh, meaty, and cooked to perfection. What really stood out, even beyond the delicious food, was the exceptional service. Honestly, it was the best service we’ve received at any restaurant in a long time. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. One staff member even helped us cook the seafood combination pot at our table, which made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. It felt like we were being hosted rather than just served. We also tried the Paua fried rice, and it was a delightful surprise—perfectly cooked and rich in seafood flavour. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, highlighting the freshness of the ingredients. Another bonus is the free parking lot behind the restaurant, which is a rare find in this area and makes visiting even more convenient. We had a wonderful night with lots of fresh seafood, great conversation, and warm hospitality. Highly recommend 928 Eatery if you want an authentic and satisfying seafood experience in Auckland.

Service was friendly, food was delicious and quick, can't praise it highly enough. There are main size plates of food and smaller dim sum. Husband and I shared sizzling lamb, salt & pepper squid, prawn toast (my personal favourite), deep fried shiu Mai, Westlake beef soup. There is also a bar. Can't believe it wasn't busier, will definitely be back. Sorry wed eaten some of the food before we took a picture!

My family and I have been regular visitors to Asian Wok, and it never fails to hit the spot for our Chinese food cravings! This gem of a restaurant consistently delivers mouthwatering dishes with vibrant flavors that keep us coming back for more. From the moment you walk in, the warm and friendly service makes you feel right at home, and the speed at which the food arrives is impressive without compromising quality. Some of our absolute favorites include the succulent tiger prawns, the rich and savory salted fish and eggplant casserole, and the perfectly crisp green beans fry. The steamed pork ribs are tender and packed with flavor, while the beef honeycomb in peanut sauce and kung pao chicken bring just the right balance of spice and texture. We also can’t get enough of the beef and spring onion stir-fry, which is always a crowd-pleaser. Every dish is prepared with care, showcasing authentic flavors that make every bite a delight. The staff’s attentiveness and the welcoming atmosphere only add to the experience, making Asian Wok our go to spot for Chinese cuisine in Auckland. My second time at Avondale Takeaway's highly recommended. 2× super burgers were amazing plenty of meat (meat pattie steak and bacon with the usual egg etc). A serve of chips and 6x battered mussels and a hot dog. Had fish from this place a few months ago, very good. They are reasonably priced.

Tasty Homely food Located right in the centre of the Auckland city CBD, just behind saravanaa bhawan , good option for vegetarian indian travellers. Food tastes yummy, just like indian street food, i felt like i am eating at my home.. kids loved the food too. Quite popular with locals. There is no dining place though, so you have to Take Away only. Qty is good and 1 dish is sufficient for 2 people ! Reasonably priced too !!

Never judge a book by its cover, or a banh mi by a poor photo! Banh mi Delights Avondale in Auckland is my last stop on my Banh mi adventure of NZ, and with changing plans comes a quick google search and a random Banh mi lunch stop. I wasn’t sure what I was going to get but the recent reviews seems pretty good. And for good reason, packed with punch this was. Lemongrass beef with extra chilli and my tastebuds were singing. Glad my plans changed. 👏
