Top Tea restaurant looks like a Hong Kong cafe with all the sign decorations, but I’m not really sure so it’s a Hong Kong style cafe. I ordered a special combo BBQ pork rice roll + Pork Bone Congee ($13.9). Ordering + You find a seat, staff will tell you to scan the QR code on the table to order your food. + You pay after the meal. Picking your autistic seat + It was too busy when I dined there. Please reference other people’s photos Water & Napkins + Both are self-service. + They have free black tea. + Table drawer for cutlery. Food - 5/10 + Half of the BBQ pork rice rolls are cabbage rice rolls. It’s a blatant rip-off. It makes me want to draw an anti gourmet manga. Like Kodoku no Gourmet except all your dining experience are disasters. + Pork bone congee is plain congee with pork bone in it. Pork taste is too subtle. Service - 9/10 Overall I will give this restaurant 3 stars. 🤓🤷

From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the freshness of the ingredients—there’s a large tank showcasing all the live seafood available, so you know exactly what you’re getting. It’s not just a meal here—it’s a full experience. The menu is focused and straightforward: fresh seafood is the star of the show. Don’t expect a long menu with lots of options—this place is all about premium, quality seafood done right. We ordered the combination seafood pot and a king crab, and both were absolutely amazing. The seafood pot was full of flavour and generously portioned, perfect for sharing. The king crab was fresh, meaty, and cooked to perfection. What really stood out, even beyond the delicious food, was the exceptional service. Honestly, it was the best service we’ve received at any restaurant in a long time. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. One staff member even helped us cook the seafood combination pot at our table, which made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. It felt like we were being hosted rather than just served. We also tried the Paua fried rice, and it was a delightful surprise—perfectly cooked and rich in seafood flavour. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, highlighting the freshness of the ingredients. Another bonus is the free parking lot behind the restaurant, which is a rare find in this area and makes visiting even more convenient. We had a wonderful night with lots of fresh seafood, great conversation, and warm hospitality. Highly recommend 928 Eatery if you want an authentic and satisfying seafood experience in Auckland.

2nd time there, I purchased the 20 dollar chicken pizza and the Lamb Kebab on rice with salad this time. Very much enjoyed the meal. Meat had good flavor and sauces I choose went well with the salad and rice. I loved the pizza, will be going back there, the mushrooms and the chicken worked very well for flavors. Friendly service and takes the time to make good food : ) I enjoy food that is good and more so when it actually fills your belly!

Good place to come for takeaways but not much to support eating there. Friendly owner, which is always nice. Roast meat was very tasty - generous portion, gravy, vegetables etc If you are eating there you won't get a plate or a knife. Meal will come in plastic container with a wooden fork. There's definitely room for an extra table inside, quite strange no plates or proper cutlery. Wouldn't take much effort to make this a more enjoyable experience for people who want to eat there ...
