马来西亚菜

Because Peninsular Malaysia shares a common history with Singapore, it is common to find versions of the same dish across both sides of the border regardless of place of origin, such as laksa and chicken rice. Rice is the most important staple food in Malaysia. A popular dish based on rice in Malaysia is nasi lemak, rice steamed with coconut milk and pandan leaves to give it a rich fragrance.

quote My wife and I visited Wellington while we are on our North Island holiday in New Zealand. While here, we craved some comfort food and we are so happy we did, because it led us to this amazing restaurant. We can vouch that the food is absolutely amazing. We actually had food from there twice (dined in once, and had an uber delivery for the other). We tried the chicken 65, chicken kothu roti/parota, chicken biryani and the murtabak. All the dishes were brilliant. Full of flavour and freshly made. We highly recommend trying this place if you are looking for some authentic south Indian or Malaysian food. Thank you to the owner for his friendly service. Worth supporting this nice little restaurant. Venue is clean, well lit and welcoming.

quote First time here. Ordered nasi lemak beef rendang, laksa with chicken, char kuay teow. Food portion is big. Taste overall nice. I loved char kway teow the most. Was surprised there’s wok hey, not a lot but good enough as can’t taste it anywhere over here. Will come back again to try other food! Staff is very friendly 🫶

quote Overall, recommended 7.5/10 Dry Bak Kut Teh — 4/5 Soy sauce-based dish featuring tender pork ribs and pork belly cubes, simmered with a mix of soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar for a savory-sweet flavor profile. The meat is soft, flavorful, and pairs wonderfully with stir-fried onions, scallions, and okra. However, the pork belly cubes had a slight gamy taste. Fried Chili & Garlic Crispy Eggplant Stuffed with Pork — 3.5/5 The fried eggplants are wonderfully crispy, and the minced pork flavored with chili, garlic, and fish sauce pairs excellently with rice. However, the eggplant itself lacked seasoning, which left the dish feeling slightly unbalanced. Teh Tarik (Milk Tea) — 5/5 Absolutely amazing. It’s smooth and slightly thick, with a rich aroma of black tea, similar to Hong Kong-style milk tea but enhanced by a hint of unique spices that set it apart. Anyway, I’ll definitely come back to explore more dishes on their menu.

quote As a Malaysian, this place really hits the spot!! Incredible authentic flavors, good price and good portion sizes. Roti Canai was made to order and made from scratch, not the frozen roti one can get from the Asian supermarket. Dosa was crispy and came with 3 sauces, dhal, coconut chutney and chicken curry, all delicious! And for $9, Bargain! Mee goreng had the wok hei IYKYK. Big prawns in there too. Bryani with beef rendang was my favorite. The beef was so tender and so flavorful, just cannot imagine how the chef could impart this much flavour in a dish. Fantastic! Will be back.
