Buy the Kadai Chicken from this shop, and get extra parottas from Saravana Bhavan across the street. Try eating them together; it will be delicious. It will taste just like the local food we eat in Tamil Nadu. I have tasted this combination; you try it and let me know what you think.

During my initial days in Auckland, Rawat Indian Takeaway was my go-to place for meals. The food is quite affordable and the portion size is good enough for one person, especially compared to many other takeaways and restaurants in the city.
They offer good combo options with decent quantity. The gravies taste slightly similar across dishes, but that’s understandable—probably adjusted to suit the local NZ palate, as very spicy food isn’t preferred by everyone here.
What really stands out is the staff. The chefs are very friendly, polite, and welcoming, which makes the experience even better.
Overall, a budget-friendly Indian takeaway with good portions and warm service. Definitely a good option if you’re new in the city or looking for affordable Indian food.

Great dhaba style food. 2 hours before midnight on New Year’s Eve my kids wanted some Indian food. We got tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, gol gappe. We brought back the food to our hotel and everyone loved it !! My son who is a picky eater and doesn’t like to eat …loved the chicken as well.

Excellent tandoori chicken! Reminded me of food back in India, when I lived in New Delhi and Punjab!!
It’s essentially a takeaway restaurant as the name says. Don’t expect ‘ambience’, parking or other frills! But food is finger-licking good!!
