Walking into Kung Fu Chicken on Queen Street was supposed to be nothing just a quick bite in the Auckland CBD. But somehow, it quietly changed everything for me.
That first night, the smell hit me first: hot oil, spice, salt. I grabbed a chicken burger, nibbles, and chips, sat by the window watching Queen Street buzz. The crunch, the warmth it melted my stress. I left feeling lighter.
Soon it became my spot. After school, meetups, late nights. Staff nodded like old friends. My “usual” evolved: spicy wings, shared chips. We talked life there exams, dreams, fears. It was easier with greasy fingers.
The CBD stopped feeling overwhelming. Kung Fu Chicken made it home turf, a third place to breathe, plan, dream big. Important convos happened over those trays. It grounded me when everything else spun fast.
Crispy chicken, cheap prices, perfect location. But really? It’s where I found my rhythm in this city. 5 stars forever.

Discovered this place via Menulog and I think I've ordered from here twice and both times the order has always been accepted swiftly and processed. The only issue is locating a delivery person but this I guess is beyond their control. Fried chicken is good and so are the chips. Note: that's my chilli sauce on the chicken! Good value for money. The burger would be tastier if the patty was made inhouse.

The food is delicious, plentiful, and most importantly, affordable. It's perfect for Asian palates. The staff are friendly, too.
