The surroundings are austere, but the food is outstanding - if you are a meat eater (they also have a wide rage of vegetarian dishes) I would recommend the Brisket, it has a touch of aniseed, and would be my personal favourite if it wasn't for the Spicy Ribs, they make my jaw lock just thinking about them. The Orange Beef is good and the deep fried Squid is to die for. There wouldn't be a food establishment in Wellington or probably NZ where you can get great food and great service for $20 a dish. I recommend you go with a few friends, select a dish each and share - you won't be disappointed.

Friendly down to earth staff, good prices and excellent food.
A smallish place tucked into the bottom floor of an apartment. Perfectly cooked traditionally madr food and HEAPS to choose from too. Some of the best I've had outside the mainland hometown.

We been to Jeff Cafe for so many times we have forgotten. The owner know us so well and knew what we want every time. Food was very good and prices is good too. When we want authentic cantonese cuisine, we will go to Jeff Cafe.

Glad we found this cafe just next to our hotel (James Cook Grand Chancellor). Their dishes are so amazing and yummy. Prices are so reasonable. Highly recommended 👍
