Loved the kungpao with noodles. And the pork chilli with the veggies.. most important part was the conversation with the owner. It was interesting to listen to his story and journey in NZ.

It was recommended by a friend. Great service and lovely atmosphere. This restaurant is one of the best dining restaurants I’ve had in NZ.
We ate Chef’s recommendations and enjoyed all our selections.
The food tasted great. You can tell that the chef is very passionate about what he is doing. Food great, service great and environment is clean making the experience really special and really memorable.

This place was great, surprisingly!
The Dandan noodles, in particular, were outstanding – served generously and at an affordable cheap price. I opted for the dry noodles, and the sauce, neither too salty nor too mild, was quite addictive. The thick noodles blended perfectly with the sauce, creating a delightful taste. As a fan of Chinese food, I thoroughly enjoyed this dish.
The dumplings and 锅包肉 (guōbāoròu) (I wasn't sure its English name - it is sweet and sour pork crispy version) were also yummy and satisfying.
Highly recommended to those who love Chinese food and in Browns Bay.

Hands down favourite dumplings in the whole wide world has to be the pork and chive in spicy sauce. Their ‘hot’ is not to be underestimated, but even though it burns a little for me it’s well worth it.
Dan dan noodles a nice accompaniment to the dumplings but not a must. Portion sizes are huge so always go for the Small if in doubt.
Fell in love with the original Basu Lounge in Takapuna but I really rate their Browns Bay location more.

The Dandan Noodle is totally different from I had before for other places. I do want to question the authenticity. The portion are generous except for the cucumber salad. The smallest I ever had in Auckland. The noodles are kind of sticky.
