Stopped in Hamilton Central for lunch at Chongqing Weidao Sichuan Style Restaurant on Collingwood Street. It was right at midday and already quite busy, which felt promising. After an early start and a long cave walk, we were craving something flavorful—and this meal delivered perfectly. The dishes were fresh, spicy, and full of authentic Sichuan character, with that addictive mix of heat and numbing peppercorns. Portions were generous and satisfying, just what we needed to recharge before continuing our trip. Highly recommend if you’re in Hamilton and looking for real Chinese food.

I'm absolutely loving Scezhwan Restaurant! As a regular, I can confidently say the service is top-notch and the food is consistently amazing. My go-to order is the chicken stir fry noodles, and it never disappoints. The flavors are always spot on, and the portion is generous. The staff are friendly and always make me feel welcome. Highly recommend Scezhwan Restaurant - you'll be hooked!

Some friends and I were craving something spicy, so we decided to visit this place for lunch while we were in Hamilton. It turned out to be a really solid choice, and I’m glad we went.
The noodle dishes we had were particularly impressive, with generous portions of both meat and noodles. The soup and broth were rich and full of flavour, making for a satisfying meal. The spice level here was no joke—if you’re looking for real heat, this place will definitely deliver! The spicy chicken, a classic dish, was another highlight. It had bold flavours and was perfect for sharing, especially if you’re dining with a large group.
The standout for me was the beef noodle soup, which had a deep, savoury richness that paired perfectly with the heat. It complemented the spicy chicken beautifully, rounding out the meal.
Simple, easy, and delicious—just how it should be.

A little hit and miss with dishes. Sizzling eggplant with pork mince was very good (5/5), texture was great, flavour wasn't as good as fragrant fish eggplant from some other places but that was likely because we chose this specific dish wanting to try something different, would happily try the other eggplant dish next time. Prawn fried rice was bad and nothing special (1.5/5). Would try white rice next time. Mapo tofu was bad, unmemorable and mostly left over (1.5/5). Spicy fish fillet with bean sprouts was good, and a very large portion (5/5), we also had a chicken dish which had noodles in it. Was ok. Noodles was bad. Mostly left over, large portion. (2.5/5). Would recommend but really depends on the dishes ordered. Btw 3 dishes would be more than enough for 4. Don't order 5 like we did. Barely fit on the table.
