Sri Lankan

Sri Lankan cuisine is known for its particular combinations of herbs, spices, fish, vegetables, rices, and fruits. The cuisine is highly centered around many varieties of rice, as well as coconut which is an ubiquitous plant throughout the country. Seafood also plays a significant role in the cuisine, be it fresh fish or preserved fish.

Our Customer Reviews

quote Guys, we just walked into this gem of a Sri Lankan restaurant! I’ve been living in Melbourne for eight years and have never seen a place like this. We originally went to eat fried rice, but after seeing the buffet, my wife and I both ended up having rice and curry — and honestly, everything in the buffet tasted unbelievably authentic. The person serving the food was actually the owner, and what I noticed was his genuine happiness when we finished our plates completely. It felt like he truly loves seeing people enjoy his food. It was obvious that his main intention isn’t just to earn money, but to make his customers happy. We’d really love to see him grow his business day by day!

quote Such a great night at this Sri Lankan restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing — each dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. We had the Egg Hoppers, Combo to Melbourne, Hot Buttered Cuttlefish and Wattalappam. My favorites were the freshly made Egg Hoppers (so fun to watch them being cooked!) and the Combo to Melbourne — the rice was loaded with spices and toppings that made every bite exciting. What made the evening even more special was the live music. A beautiful girl with an incredible voice was singing up front, adding such a warm and welcoming vibe to the whole experience. I’d love to encourage her to sing with even more confidence — she’s got a lovely voice, and with a little more boldness, her performance would truly shine! From the food to the atmosphere, everything came together so well. I’d definitely love to come back again with friends and family. Also hoping to try the Dutch Lamprais next time — it was sold out when we visited!

quote We stopped by this restaurant for lunch on 24th April 2025 and ordered a Roast Chicken Kotthu, Nasi Goreng, and Lump Rice. We were honestly shocked by the portion sizes—in the best way! This was the first time we’ve seen a Sri Lankan restaurant where one dish was more than enough for two adults. We only managed to finish two dishes and took the third home. The taste? Absolutely unmatchable. I don’t think I’m creative enough to express just how happy we were. The food had that authentic, homemade taste that brought back memories—and I can confidently say none of the big names in Melbourne come close to the talent here. We were so delighted, we even ordered dinner from the same place later that day! And because we felt so grateful, my wife asked the friendly staff at the counter if we could meet the chef. A couple of minutes later, we were lucky enough to meet Nirmala—the incredible person behind the food that made our day (and especially our kids’ day). Nirmala, you have truly blessed hands. We’ve never felt this satisfied with a food experience in Melbourne. Thank you so much! This place is highly recommended to anyone who wants to try authentic Lankan cuisine.

quote "Tasty foods in clean environment" Small eatery but offers good variety with friendly service. Also has a basin washing area next to tables so you can enjoy the naan etc. Very reliable catering service as well.
