We were looking for dinner and came across KK Malaysian Cuisine on Manukau Road. I didn’t think too much of it at first, other than the fact that I was craving Malaysian food, particularly Char Kuey Teow!
We ordered a Char Kuey Teow, nasi goreng, and a tom yum fried rice. I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the tom yum fried rice. It was interesting to have the tanginess of tom yum combined with the smokiness you’d expect from nasi goreng. The Char Kuey Teow was delicious. I asked for mine to be spicy, and they definitely delivered! Some really nice umami flavours, and the meats were cooked well too.
We left very happy and very full. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after something a little different but still familiar if you enjoy Chinese or Thai cuisine. Malaysian cuisine is right up there among my favourites!

Lovely food, reasonable price, not spicy enough for my taste. Food came out in good time. Delicious will definitely come again

I ordered Fried Kuey Teow and Mummy Ribs. Since I don’t like coriander, I asked if they put coriander in it. The staff then replied angrily, “No, this is Malaysian food.” I didn’t know at that time and just waited for my food, but in the end, my order was canceled while my colleagues had already received theirs. I had no choice but to order again, and honestly, I found it quite ridiculous.

Good Malaysian food. Ordered the nasi lemak with chicken sambal. The sambal had a mild flavour, probably to cater to the NZ locals . The nee goreng was authentic , similar to mamak mee goreng. Portion was very generous too.
Customer service however was non existent. The server was very shy.
The invoice was for $58.5 but was charged $59. Only realised this after travelling home. my fault for not checking
