We didn’t want this meal to end 😭 Amazing hospitality, amazing food and sooo authentic!! A must try in Dunedin. Nothing hits the soul like “home cooked” Indian food. Thank you for giving us a taste of home while we are miles away. We will come again tmr! 😋

Fantastic South Indian food! A real delight to find such good cuisine in this small part of the world. The owners are passionate about what they do and it shows in the food. My colleague and I visited multiple of times during our 10 day stay in Dunedin and it was consistently good everytime. The Masala Dosas are a winner, extra crispy, with layers of soft fluffy pastry and full of potato masala. Awesome textures all round. The curries (we tried all the meat ones) were rich, full of flavour and well balanced. Same with the Biryani. I've had Indian food in many places around the world, including India, and the food here is a standout. I highly recommend Dosa ect. for anyone visiting Dunedin and wish the owners all the best 👍

It was our first time at Dosa Etc last night, we have ordered Masala Dosa and Kuthu Parata…both the dishes were delicious and flavourful. I would definitely visit again next time when I am back in dunedin. The service is too good

This is hands down the most authentic South Indian food we have ever had in New Zealand. We have eaten at many well-known South Indian restaurants across the country, including in Auckland and Hamilton, but this place in Dunedin is truly unbeatable. The idlis are an absolute must-try as they are unbelievably soft, light, and delicious. The medu vadas are another highlight: perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The dosas are beautifully crisp and cooked just right. What we loved most is that you can actually taste the food itself rather than being overwhelmed by spices, which can sometimes happen at other restaurants. The balance of flavours here is spot on. The owner is incredibly hospitable and genuinely so nice, which makes the whole experience even better. I’ll say it again: do not miss the idlis! We will definitely be recommending this restaurant to our friends and family, and we can’t wait to come back ourselves. Truly deserving of a five-star rating.

Absolutely loved our visit to Dosa Etc in Dunedin! We ordered podi dosa, Mysore masala dosa, idli vada with sambar, filter coffee, Schezwan noodles, and Manchurian, and honestly—everything was delicious. The dosas were perfectly crisp and flavorful, the idli and vada were soft and fresh, and the sambar was comforting and authentic. The Indo-Chinese dishes were well-balanced and tasty, and the filter coffee was the perfect way to end the meal. Great food, authentic flavors, and a really satisfying experience overall. Definitely a must-visit if you’re craving good South Indian food in Dunedin. Will be back for sure! 😍
