Fantastic South Indian food! A real delight to find such good cuisine in this small part of the world.
The owners are passionate about what they do and it shows in the food. My colleague and I visited multiple of times during our 10 day stay in Dunedin and it was consistently good everytime. The Masala Dosas are a winner, extra crispy, with layers of soft fluffy pastry and full of potato masala. Awesome textures all round.
The curries (we tried all the meat ones) were rich, full of flavour and well balanced. Same with the Biryani. I've had Indian food in many places around the world, including India, and the food here is a standout.
I highly recommend Dosa ect. for anyone visiting Dunedin and wish the owners all the best 👍

We had an amazing experience at this South Indian restaurant! After 8 days of touring the South Island, our group was seriously craving authentic South Indian food—and this place did not disappoint!
From crispy dosa to flavorful thali, soft idly, and perfectly fried vada, every dish hit the spot and brought back the taste of home. The food was delicious, comforting, and exactly what we needed.
A special thanks to Srikanth and Vinutha for their warm hospitality. They’ve kept the place extremely clean and hygienic, and it truly added to the overall experience. Our whole group thoroughly enjoyed every moment here. Highly recommended to anyone looking for real South Indian flavors in Dunedin.

Dosa Etc has become a staple for my girlfriend and I since I've moved here. I'm a vegan, so their ample vegan options are appreciated. Food is always fantastic, service is always friendly, and the environment is clean and well lit. We will certainly keep coming here again and again.

Dosas play a crucial role in South Indian cuisine. We prepare our dosa batter in-house, allowing it to ferment naturally, resulting in perfectly crispy and flavorful dosas that will take you straight to South India. Dosas are naturally gluten-free, and most can be made vegan; however, we cannot guarantee no cross-contamination. If you have any dietary requirements, please feel free to speak with one of our staff members.
All of our curries come with rice.
A South Indian meal fit for lunch or dinner featuring a variety of dishes or recipes, beautifully arranged on a plate or thali. We will give you unlimited refills on your rice but all others components cost extra.
