Brown Rice Japanese Kitchen

Not a bad experience, but definitely noted some things that could be improved. The salmon katsu was very heavily coated in crumb, so the ratio was quite off, and made the fish very hard and over cooked. The vegetable tempura was not bad, but the batter could be better, and it needed more sauce. The sauce it was served with wasn't a traditional tempura sauce either. The rice was very bland, no seasoning. I requested for the vegetable bento to be served with no fish, but I received a prawn cutlet and salmon sushi piece. The salad desperately needed a creamy roasted sesame dressing, as it was very plain, and combined with plain rice and tempura with very little sauce, it was a little underwhelming. The katsu chicken was nice and crunchy and came with a sauce on top which was tasty. I'd definitely look forward to trying this place again if they made some changes. A side note, this place was a little hard to see from the street as the main signage said Dons n' Rolls, not Brown Rice Japanese.

So happy to find a bento spot that delivers fresh, tasty bento! I had the crispy teriyaki salmon which was good. Rich but clean. Quality maki, well made rice and a decent amount of salad. The crumbed deep fried prawns were awful though - cold, greasy, overly crumbed and not fresh tasting. Otherwise really good!

The food here is soo good but took sooo long! We came here for an early dinner on thursday night and ordered the karaage chicken on curry and udon, the tempura salmon on salad and the beef udon. all three dishes was so delicious and flavour were really nice. BUT, the food took over half an hour to be made and at that point we were really over it. I’d recommend getting takeaways from this place instead of eating there so you don’t have to wait too long or calling and ordering ahead of time.

I order delivery from Brown Rice Japanese Kitchen from time to time, but after today’s meal I really felt I should leave some feedback. Firstly, I truly appreciate how generous the portions are especially the katsu chicken in the donburi and the salmon & tuna sashimi. It feels like I’m getting real value for what I pay, which makes the delivery so worthwhile. The katsu chicken is honestly one of the best I’ve had: the crumb coating is beautifully crisp yet light, and the chicken inside stays so juicy and tender. It’s such a satisfying texture and flavour with every bite. I also love the fresh salad that comes with the meals . it’s always colourful, with such a good and different variety of vegetables. It really feels like eating a rainbow on the side, and it balances the meal perfectly and the sauce that goes with it opens up my appetite. I always look forward to ordering from Brown Rice Japanese Kitchen because it reminds me of comforting, hearty home-cooked food. The generous portions, fresh ingredients, and consistently delicious flavours never disappoint. Thank you so much for your hard work and care in preparing every meal. It truly shows. Please keep up the wonderful job, and know that your effort brings a lot of happiness to me.
