I went with a friend to grab dinner at Bala, Peachgrove, and the food was absolutely flawless. The Chicken 65 is hands down the best in town—far better than any other restaurant I’ve tried. On top of that, the staff who served us yesterday (14/01/26) were incredibly friendly and kind. Amazing food and the most welcoming service—definitely the best spot in town!

Probably the most authentic Indian experience you could have in Waikato. Haven’t had better and doubt I will find many that can match the taste and authenticity. I have loved this place for years, visits are always a pleasant time. Great portion, great price and great staff. Now that I have moved away I misses this place and will revisit given the chance

For best South Indian dishes this is preferable. They also have good chicken dishes. Definitely try their Briyani Thali. I had that last time. It was good.

Bala's Kitchen in Hamilton was an absolute delight for my craving of authentic South Indian food, and today turned out to be a lucky day indeed. Our order included a variety of dishes: mutton biryani, fish fry 🐟rice, rasam, pepper mutton 🌶️🐐 porotha , and of course, a comforting cup of filter coffee ☕ From the moment the food arrived, it was evident that my soul was in for a treat. The mutton biryani was fragrant and bursting with flavor 😋 the fish fry was crispy and perfectly seasoned 🤤 and the accompanying sides like rice, rasam, and mutton sukkah were exceptional. What elevated the experience even further was the warm hospitality of Peter, who was not only friendly but also incredibly welcoming. His attention to our dining experience made us feel right at home. Bala's Kitchen truly delivered on the promise of authentic South Indian cuisine, and I left with a content and satisfied heart, knowing that I had discovered a gem in Hamilton. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delicious offerings.

We had a wonderful dining experience. Authentic south Indian food in New Zealand - Hamilton. Outstanding customer service... staff are incredibly friendly and attentive.. must try chettinad dosa, chicken biriyani, barota etc. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for authentic south Indian food.. thank you Peter, Naveen and Bala
