'Town of Bread.' What a great name evoking all sorts of warm and fuzzy connotations!
A Lebanese kebab shop bakery with some Persian dishes on the menu.
I went for the loaded meat gozeleme cooked to order.
Tasty bread and a generous portion of mixed meat, cheese and spinach.
A minor complaint was that one slice of this excellent breakfast had some gristly bits but overall it was delicious.
Warm service.
I also enjoyed my long macchiato and a smoke afterwards in the outdoor seating area watching the world go by.
The pizzas are probably good too given I saw a man and his young daughter pick up 12 large pizzas!
"That's a lot of pizza" she said when dad came back to the car balancing the load while trying to open the door 😅
I had the pleasure of having lunch today at Charcoal House in Waterford, and it was such a great experience.
Now under new management since September, this small, family-owned takeaway is tucked just behind the Waterford Hotel, right next to a brand-new bakery. It’s a cosy little spot with a simple, easy-to-read menu displayed as you walk in, and there are enough tables and chairs if you’d like to dine in instead of taking your meal away.
The owners and their family were incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the visit even better.
As for the food — absolutely spectacular. If you’re craving proper old-school charcoal chicken, this is the place. The flavour is spot on, and the sides are just as impressive. If you’re also in the mood to try something with a bit of cultural variety, they’ve got some great options for that too.
Honestly, you won’t be disappointed. Definitely worth a visit
First of all, the shop owner is incredibly friendly and genuine — you can walk in, place your order, and enjoy a lovely little chat. When it comes to the food, he’s generous, everything is beautifully presented, and you can tell it’s all homemade, hot, and delicious. I’m so glad to have a local spot like this with Sam around. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!
This place was nice. The chicken was juicy and not at all dry but I found it a little weak on flavouring. The chips with chicken salt were really good, I could have way more of those haha.
The chicken stacker burger also was pretty good but I think they would benefit from a lemon and herb mayo sorta thing. I'll be back to try other things on the menu and see if I can't change the sauces.
